This 3-day hands-on class was designed to prepare you for actual on-site action with a real water intrusion in our flood house.

The original and first of its kind in Canada, with our house outside, we are able to show the attendees real RESULTS!

Exposed to the elements, our 1024 square foot modular home is a fully functional, fully furnished environment with various types of carpet, hardwood and vinyl flooring, wall surfaces, paints, cabinets and substrates. 

Offering realistic conditions, The Center for Disaster Recovery prides itself in our training using the outlined standards and guidelines available today. 

This course helps train the student to dry the entire structure from top to bottom using various pieces of the most advanced equipment and methods of drying. 

The student will perform the techniques required to guarantee the job is dry!


This course will focus on the drying and set up of:

Class participation in all phases of the extraction process and drying techniques.

  • Hardwood Flooring, under padding, sub flooring, and different styles of carpets

  • Wall Cavities

  • Metal Studs

  • Doors/Windows

  • Crawlspaces

  • Insulation

  • Furnishings

  • Contents on site

  • Finish Trim

Students will also learn

  • Extraction Methods

  • How to use Psychrometry to make educated decisions in monitoring daily

  • Extensive monitoring of the job site with interactive classroom/jobsite training

Please note:

*Water Damage Restoration Technician is a mandatory prerequisite course needed in order to attend the AMRT and/or ASD. 

Those taking the AMRT and/or ASD course exams must have already attended and passed the IICRC Certified Water Damage Restoration Technician course. 

Those attendees who have neglected to obtain this prerequisite will NOT be eligible to write the exam nor will they be able to gain credit for the course.
